Security and privacy

How we keep client data safe.

Accounting firms hold some of the most sensitive data there is. Here's exactly how we handle it when we put AI to work in your practice.

  1. 01

    Where your data lives

In your own Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams and SharePoint), and in the business plans of any AI tool we set up. We don't store client data on our own systems.

  2. 02

    No training on your data

We choose business plans and settings where your data isn't used to train AI models, and we document which tools are in use.

  3. 03

    People stay in charge

Anything sent to a client, or saved to a client file, is approved by a person.

  4. 04

    The basics, done properly

    • Two-step sign-in for every login.
    • Access to client files limited to the people who need it.
    • Backups.
    • Alerts when something unusual happens.
  5. 05

    Your obligations

Many accounting firms are covered by the Privacy Act, and some now have new obligations under the anti-money-laundering reforms that began on 1 July 2026. We help you set up IT that supports those obligations, but we're not lawyers; talk to your adviser about what applies to you.
